Bramall Hall to receive £1.6m for ‘urgent’ repairs
Bramhall Hall has been granted £1.6 million for a series of 'urgent' repairs.
Work will include roof stripping, gutter repairs, and leadwork - all of it will be vital in preserving the historic character and architectural integrity of the building.
The hall will remain open to visitors throughout the course of the work, which is expected to begin this coming winter.
The repair process is expected to take around two years.
"Without urgent repairs, the building and its collections are at risk from the elements, and climate change is making this an increasingly pressing concern", a Stockport Council spokesperson said.
