'It's never a penalty' - Dave Challinor calls out controversial penalty decision in Wrexham game

Stockport County manager Dave Challinor has questioned a controversial penalty decision in a game against Wrexham on Saturday (22 March).
Wrexham were given a penalty for a handball against Ibou Touray in the first half of the match at the STōK Racecourse ground.
The penalty was initially saved in an impressive effort by Hatters keeper Corey Addai, but Jay Rodriguez caught the rebound to make it 1-0.
Speaking post-match, the gaffer said: "That's never been a penalty. [...]
"There can be arguments potentially for the decision before, when I think Sam Smith goes down under pressure from Ethan Pye - there can be arguments there. I've not seen that back closely, but that's more of a penalty than the one that was given.
"For a linesman to get involved on the far side of the pitch and do nothing else in the game, and cost us - not cost us three points, because we weren't good enough to score and didn't create many opportunities - but to cost us a point and flip the momentum of the game is down to another really poor decision in my eyes."
The result means Wrexham now sit in second, and County fifth in the League One table.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson was enthused with his players' performance, Nation Cymru reports.
"We've restricted Stockport to very little over the game, and it was always going to be a match of few chances because they're well organised", he said. "Dave's got a great team there and they're very hard to break down.
"We've got eight games to go. There's a lot of football to be played, but this has helped us on our way."
