The owners of the iconic Stockport pub The Midway have announced that they will be leaving the helm on 1 October.

Paul and Pauline arrived at the pub in January 1999, and have since then turned the establishment into a contemporary eating and drinking venue loved by locals. The pub even picked up a 'North West Pub of the Year' award in 2022, in what was described by the pair as 'a perfect note to end on'.

In its storied history, the pub has picked up a myriad of other awards, too: the Stockport Pub Guide's 'Pub of the Year', 'Stockport's Best Sunday Lunch', and Pure Radio's 'Stockport's Perfect Pub 2016'. The Midway was also a regional finalist in the 'City Life Pub Of The Year' award.

The owners have said they are looking forward to beginning the next chapter of their lives, and spending more time with their family.
