Are you a keen gardener, or feeling green-fingered around this time of year?

Stockport Homes will be giving out £650 of prizes in its annual gardening competition this summer.

There are four categories: best garden, best container, best communal, and best fruit and veg.

Each category will have a first, second and third place winner, with a £50, £30, and £20 Love2Shop voucher prize for each respectively.

The first place winners from each category will then be shortlisted for the 'best in the borough' prize - the winner of this will receive a £250 Homebase voucher.

Stockport Homes says on its website: "Since its launch, the competition has highlighted the amazing individuals, community groups and neighbours that are brightening up our region by going the extra mile in enhancing their gardens."

The deadline for entering the competition is 23 July. Entrants must be a tenant, leaseholder or live in a Stockport Homes property.

Stockport Homes manages housing stock across Stockport on behalf of the council.
