The much-loved mainstay of the underbanks, Huffy's at the Three Shires, is due to re-open this Saturday (1 July), after undergoing refurbishment.

On re-opening day, the restaurant will serve food and drink from 12-4pm. From 5pm, the official re-opening party will take place, featuring complimentary food and a free glass of prosecco on arrival.

A live artist will also play from 6pm.

A post on social media states: "The much-loved Huffy's at the Three Shires will have a grand re-opening on Saturday 1 July.

"There will be a live band, DJ, and free food, so please come and join us from 5pm.

"Our regular opening times will be Monday to Sunday from 12pm until late, where we will be serving the finest cooked fresh food including Stockport's best Sunday lunch."

With the local favourite having been out of action for some time, its re-opening is a widely anticipated event.

A number of deals will run throughout the week, including two fish and chips for £20 on Fridays.

The Three Shires is a grade II listed building, built around 1580 as a townhouse. The shopfront was inserted in 1824.

In its long history, the building has been a confectioners, bakery, surgery, and solicitors - the restaurant re-opening will be another entry into the building's storied past.
