Stagecoach have announced fare changes for various ticket types, mostly involving a rise of around 5%.
Some tickets will remain the same due to the fare cap by Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham; any single journey will remain at £2 for adults and £1 for children. Similarly, the one day AnyBus travelcard remains at £5, whilst the seven day option is still £21.
However, a number of DayRider, MegaRider and route specific tickets have increased.
Stagecoach issued the following statement: "We are committed to keeping our fares as low as possible, but like everything the cost of running buses has risen significantly. So, we have had to make the decision to review our fares.
"However, the good news is that owing to the bus fare cap by the GM Mayor some fares are still capped to help you save money on the cost of your travel."
