Five people charged with robbery following incident on Wellington Road South

Greater Manchester Police Stockport have announced that five persons have been charged with robbery and remanded to appear at court following an incident at 4pm on Sunday 23 April, at the junction between Ratcliffe Street and Wellington South outside the Pizza Hut. 

They are appealing for any information, as well as any CCTV, dashcam or mobile footage footage from around the time of the incident. 

See the following statement for details and how to report any information you may have: 

"5 persons have been charged with robbery and remanded to appear at court today (25/04/2023) following a robbery which occurred at 4pm on Sunday 23rd April 2023 at the junction of Ratcliffe Street and Wellington Road South. This is next to the Pizza Hut. 

"This incident involved 2 victims being attacked with a hammer and possessions taken from their person.  

"Were you in the area at this time? If you have any information, CCTV, mobile footage, dash cam or cycle footage from around the times of this incident, please do get in touch with GMP now. 

"Any details can be reported to directly to Stockport's Neighbourhood Crime Team at [email protected] or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting 2135 23/04/2023."
