Residents in the SK3 area yesterday faced either very low water pressure or no water at all following an issue with a burst pipe.

The issue was first reported yesterday at 3.50am, as residents began to wake up.

United Utilities sent tankers to pump a temporary water supply into the network as they worked on the issue.

Holes were dug in an attempt to fix the issue, and work continued until around 4.30pm on Monday.

An update on the United Utilities website confirmed completion: "Good news, we've now fixed the problem on the water main and your taps should be flowing again.

"We will fill in the hole, remove the barriers and get the road back to normal as quickly as we can over the next few days."
