Plans for new Bredbury industrial park modified following public feedback

Plans to build a new industrial estate in Bredbury have been updated following feedback from the public.
Plans were revealed last year for a new 500,000 sq ft estate featuring warehousing, manufacturing, a park and more - all on a site next to Ashton Road at Bredbury Park Way.
It aims to provide 'modern and efficient' headquarters buildings for local businesses.
Since then, developers FI Real Estate Management (FIREM) have updated their plans to include new car parking, improved public footpath and landscaping, a new community hub, allotments, and more.
The new car park would be created for users of Stockport Sports Village to alleviate traffic issues in the nearby Woodley area.
Similarly, other highways assessments have been carried out to further accommodate traffic in the area.
The community hub, meanwhile, would be available for the community to use, as would the green spaces and paths nearby. Indeed, land adjacent to the site will be kept free from development, providing a space for workers and members of the public to stroll.

FIREM has been developing these updated plans alongside local groups and residents.
The scheme would be expected to generate around 1,000 new jobs, with FIREM arguing that it would meet the local need for modern employment space.
A full planning application is expected to be submitted to Stockport Council soon.
A previous separate scheme to develop the land was refused by Stockport council in March 2021, after councillors ruled that the benefits would not outweigh 'the harm to the green belt.'
Tim Knowles, Founder and Managing Director of FIREM, said: "Feedback from residents and stakeholders has been carefully considered following our public consultation last year.
"Several key updates and improvements have taken place to the scheme including on design, developing our case for local and regional need, further highways work, and on landscaping.
"We have also considered how we can deliver community benefits as part of this development including linking up key public rights of way and help ease local road pressures at Stockport Sports Village via new on-site parking.
"We have also enhanced the green buffer and moved development further away from nearby residents on Castle Hill in response to feedback."
FIREM is hosting an information session at the Arthur Greenwood Centre on Friday 11 July from 3-7pm, for residents who'd like to know more.
