A new family-run bakery is opening in Bramhall today (Thursday 31 October).

The Little Bakery, run by mother and daughter team Sarah and Libby Johnson, will provide additive-free baked goods.

Daughter Libby, who qualified at Birmingham University, does all the baking and food preparation.

Mother Sarah said: "We are just trying to offer wholesome good flavours without all the additives and messing around."

A variety of fresh bakes, from sourdoughs and malted loaf to cakes and biscuits, will be on offer.

The duo aim to directly support other local businesses, buying their flour from Nelstrops Family Flour Millers in Stockport and their ovens from Greater Manchester-based Chandley Ovens.

The Little Bakery also sells coffee and sandwiches and customers can sit inside with a cup of coffee.

Libby began preparation for the opening day at four o'clock this morning and has organised spooky additions to cakes for Halloween.

The Little Bakery will be open in Bramhall precinct from 10am till 5pm on Tuesdays-Saturdays.
