£100,000 in drugs seized in Brinnington following police raid

Police have recovered £100,000 in drugs and made three arrests after searching a property on Middlesex Road in Brinnington.
Officers also seized a caravan which itself contained various substances, as well as air weapons and a machete.
Two men - aged 54 and 20 - and one woman, aged 57, were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A, B, and C drugs with intent to supply.
The warrant was carried out early on Wednesday morning (11 March), forming part of an intensified operation in Brinnington which has spanned almost a month, aiming to address 'deep-rooted' criminality.
The operation has seen Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) dedicated 'Vulcan' team deployed to the area, which has previous experience working in Derker, Piccadilly Gardens, and Cheetham Hill.
The Vulcan team is carrying out "a sustained campaign of activity", ranging from arrests and early-morning search warrants through to community engagement days.

The team aims to tackle criminality head-on, while 'laying foundations' to keep the crime rate lower in the future.
The Vulcan team has been on the ground since mid-February, and GMP says they are 'making significant inroads' in tackling drug supply in the area.
Inspector Dan Cullum, from the Operation Vulcan team, said: "This early morning warrant has resulted in significant discoveries, which are still being processed and reviewed as part of our ongoing enquiries.
"In addition to the drugs we have located several weapons, and the caravan was indeed a unique seizure – we will be assessing and conducting a further search as part of our work.
"We are still new to Brinnington but we are already engaging with the community and taking action to tackle issues that have been reported to us.
"If anyone within the area has anything they'd like us to look into, I would urge them to get in touch with us. All intelligence is assessed and acted upon."
