Crime statistics from Neighbourhood Watch for the past week have revealed that Marple saw the lowest number of incidents in the borough.

The burglary of a garden shed was the only reported incident for the area.

Reddish, Offerton, Cheadle and Bramhall were similarly low, with each beat reporting two incidents each.

It comes not long after Marple reported no incidents at all earlier in the year. A spokesperson for Neighbourhood Watch said: "I personally cannot ever remember that being the case for a full set of beats."

Neighbourhood Watch collects crime data from police forces across the Stockport area each week.

The latest data comes from 15 October.

  • Cheadle Heath, Adswood and Edgeley collectively saw 30 incidents, with Adswood comprising roughly half of these (14). Incidents included burglary, assault, and vehicle theft.
  • Brinnington and Lancashire Hill saw 15 incidents, including four of harassment, three of assault, and three of vehicle damage.
  • The Heatons saw 11 incidents: seven residential burglaries and four vehicle offences.
  • Reddish only saw two incidents: a business burglary and a vehicle offence.
  • Cheadle Hulme and Heald Green saw 15 incidents.
  • Cheadle and Gatley saw two incidents: one burglary and one theft.
  • Bramhall and Woodford also saw two incidents - both residential burglaries.
  • Offerton, Stepping Hill and Hazel Grove saw three burglaries.
  • Marple, High Lane and Marple Bridge recorded one residential burglary (garden shed) in this period.
  • Werneth saw three incidents: one residential burglary, one robbery, and one vehicle offence.
