Lyme Park celebrates 30 years since the filming of iconic Pride and Prejudice series

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the BBC's iconic Pride and Prejudice series, filmed at Lyme Park.
The charming country house was turned into Pemberley for what many fans describe as the best ever TV adaptation of Austen's classic novel.
And to celebrate, The National Trust is hosting guided tours of Lyme Park with exclusive access to some of the filming locations.
Among these is Darcy's Pond - an area of Lyme's vast parkland that's usually closed to visitors at this time of year.
There will also be the chance to explore a Regency dressing room, and channel your inner Elizabeth or Mr Darcy with some period dress.

These tours will be running until 22 October. House admission applies, but other than that no extra booking is required.
BBC's 1995 edition of Pride and Prejudice is widely held by fans of Jane Austen to be the best and most faithful adaptation of the novel.
With painstakingly researched dress, historical detail, a beautiful location and a stellar cast, it still holds up 30 years later.
Lyme Park was first built as a hunting lodge in the medieval era. It expanded over the centuries, with much of the present facade being of 17th-18th century design.
