Stockport Central Library to re-open with books, music services and more

Stockport's Central Library is due to re-open providing some library services in the near future.

It will host books, WiFi, computers, and provide a new home for Stockport Music Service.

Central Library closed on 12 May, shortly before the opening of Stockroom - the town centre's new library and events space.

It's undergoing "essential maintenance and improvement works", which will be 'vital' in protecting and preserving the building.

Although Central Library was due to re-open in summer, planned works have been delayed.

As yet there is no fixed date for re-opening.
