Now that Christmas has passed, you may find yourself with a fair old tree on your hands and no idea what to do with it.

Fortunately, St Ann's Hospice and Francis House Children's Hospice are organising collections in January, along with national charity JustHelping.

From 11-14 January, anybody with a Stockport postcode can arrange for volunteers to pick up their tree, after which it will be recycled to make woodchip for parks.

A donation of £20 is recommended - this in turn will support other charities across Stockport and Greater Manchester.

In the 2023 collection alone, £63,07.99 was raised for fifteen local charities, with more than 5,000 trees collected.

Lucy Leeming, Fundraising Manager of St Ann's Hospice, said: "We are so proud of how much was raised in last year's Christmas tree collection, and we are really excited for this year's as the collection areas have expanded."

You can register your tree to be collected HERE.
