Exciting times are on the horizon for Stockport, as the Plaza welcomes a new forty-piece orchestra for a special performance next month.

A concert on 11 February will be the first in a series of performances by The Pyramid Players Orchestra. It will feature the music of the 1930s, '40s and '50s, in an effort to bring music greats from the era to modern audiences.

The Pyramid Players Orchestra was founded by Stockport-local John Wilson, an original member of Stockport Symphony Orchestra and the man who led the campaign to save the Plaza nearly 25 years ago.

The first concert will be held at Stockport Plaza, Mersey Square, with the Mayor and Mayoress in attendance.

The concert will begin at 4pm - visitors can expect the likes of Eric Coates, Robert Farnon and Ernest Tomlinson.

Find tickets HERE. (£7 / £5 for concessions / free for carers).
