Nominations for the Stockport Race and Culture awards will close tomorrow (Tuesday 9 January)
Hosted by the Stockport Race Equality Partnership, these awards comprise 10 categories and aim to "honour the people and organisations that go the extra mile in contributing to inclusive action, creating opportunities for under-represented groups, and breaking down longstanding barriers to prosperity."
Stopfordians have until tomorrow to nominate a person for one or more of the 10 categories, which are as follows:
- Community Volunteer award
- Unsung Hero award
- Helping Hand award
- Corporate Responsibility award
- Distinguished Service to Ethnically Diverse Grassroots Communities
- Young Person of the Year award (under 25)
- Voluntary Organisation award
- The Aba Graham Special award
- Lifetime Achievement award
- Health and Wellbeing Champion award
Any person can be nominated (including yourself!) and in any number of categories. Those selecting will need to explain why they have chosen the person that they have.
The Race Equality Partnership says in the survey: "This is an opportunity for you to tell us about an individual or organisation who you think should be celebrated and recognised by the Stockport community for their work in this area."
Make your nominations HERE.
Nominations will close on Tuesday 9 January at midday.
