Greggs is planning to move from its Edgeley branch at 55 Castle Street to a vacant unit next door (51-53 Castle Street).

The vacant unit is the site of the old Community Essence store. Part of the plans involve a new outdoor seating section extending into Castle Street.

Speaking of the move, the Edgeley Community Association said: "Whilst we are happy that this large unit is being tenanted, a multi-billion pound company being allowed to have seating outside whilst independent eateries face a blanket ban to tables and chairs licences due to the restricted width of the footways seems unfair - so we are exploring the feasibility of a trial project in the Spring on Castle Street for independent businesses to have this opportunity too."

The determination deadline for these proposals is 6 December. The standard consultation expiry date is 23 November - for neighbours it is 26 November. You can find the application HERE.
