A new unit will be set up to tackle illegal off-road bikes, police have announced.
The new unit will use an "intelligence-led system" to identify areas where off-road motorcycle anti-social behaviour and related crime are taking place.
Greater Manchester Police will introduce the unit - part of the specialist operations branch - in the coming weeks.
It comes following concern widespread concern in Greater Manchester over the issue of illegal motorcycles, including in Stockport.
In December 2023, a Stockport council committee heard how Davenport Fields were frequently subject to reports of ASB, including offroad bikes.
Councillors in Stockport recently hosted a meeting with police, following long term complaints of anti-social behaviour.
Cllr Lisa Smart, who organised the meeting, said: "Lots of residents aren't aware of either how to report these problems, whether their experiences are things they should report, and what happens next after they have reported it.
"That's why it was good to see one of the first steps that was agreed was a shared communications plan, so that people know exactly what they should be doing, and what they can expect in return."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Rest assured, the re-establishment of this specialised unit underscores our commitment to tackling the persistent problems caused by off-road bikes.
"We recognise the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, as well as protecting our green spaces and local amenities from damage."
