County have secured the League Two top spot following an away win at Harrogate, capitalising on Notts County's dropped points in their Nottinghamshire derby against Mansfield.
This seemed a comfortable game for County. Admittedly, Harrogate opened with a strong chance from Josh March, who found himself in a one-on-one with Hinchliffe and curled the ball past the keeper - in the event, the ball juddered against the crossbar.
It was Sarcevic who opened the scoring for County in the 14th minute, landing a delicious goal from a tight angle, assisted from a corner.
The County party continued into the second half, with one of Louie Barry's characteristic runs carving up the opposition defence. Finding himself at a difficult angle, Barry fired the ball across the goal, where it caught a deflection from Town's Warren Burrell and led to a Harrogate own goal.
'Million-dollar Will Collar' buried the game, catching the end of a cross from Sarcevic and heading the ball home.
Harrogate were able to nick a goal back in the 73rd minute following a controversial penalty, but ultimately it was too little, too late.
Final score: Harrogate Town 1-3 Stockport County.
In his post-match interview, manager Dave Challinor said: "Today could potentially have been a tough game.
"Our second half was brilliant, I think, and we should have won by more.
"That's never a penalty - we'll get another email on Monday with an apology. We didn't deserve to concede a goal.
"But, like I say, a difficult place to come, and a really good performance and win.
"With the run we're on, we're really motivated to make sure that continues."
