Six consecutive league wins for County! | Stockport County 1-0 Doncaster Rovers
County have picked up another three points in a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers - they now sit at second place in the table.
The game took place at a packed Edgeley Park, and marked the first time that The Hatters have beat Rovers in the EFL in 33 years.
The game began with an end-to-end first half, with a number of achingly close chances from Tanto, Barry, and Croasdale. Rovers also managed a close header at the Railway End, and Hinchliffe once again showed his quality by thwarting another chance, running off his line for a diving tackle.
Five minutes into the second half, Hinchliffe rescued County again with a blinding double save at the Cheadle End.
Nonetheless, County kept up the pressure. It looked like it could have been 1-0 to the Blues not long after with a fantastic Odin Bailey chance, but ultimately it was lifted over the bar.
Further still, Paddy Madden was denied in the 68th minute by Rovers keeper Louis Jones.
The moment we'd all been waiting for came in the 83rd minute, when Will Collar lifted a cross into the box, which Tanto converted with a header.
It was the seventh goal in as many games for Olaofe, who also picked up man of the match.
In his post-match interview, manager Dave Challinor said: "Tough game, because the expecatiton rises with the fact that you've won five games on the bounce. And a tough game because you're playing a decent team - they play in a way that, at times, gives them control. When you jump to try and halt that control, they hurt you.
"Credit to the players for digging in, credit to the players who came on and gave us a different threat.
"We always show commitment, but that added commitment to see the game through and put our bodies on the line to make sure the ball didn't get anywhere near our goal. That was probably one of the most pleasing things today."
