A range of events will take place in Stockport this weekend. Kicking off the weekend is the welcome return of Foodie Friday.

On Saturday, Edgeley will host a festive market, whilst a record fair will take place at Stockport Masonic Guildhall on Sunday.

Further still, The Rising Sun in Hazel Grove is hosting a fundraising weekend

It's that time of the month again!

Market Place in Stockport town centre will host a myriad of street food traders in this much-loved event in the Stockport calendar.

Proceedings will run from 6-9pm on Friday 24 November.

A description for this event reads: "Foodie Friday is a truly unique social event for Stockport town centre, creating a continental-style, street cafe culture which appeals to all ages, and gives families a relaxed and enjoyable night out with their children."

If the prospect of all those traders peddling delicious cuisine from around the world isn't enough, then there will also be live music!

The Rising Sun pub in Hazel Grove will transform into a festive wonderland this weekend, as part of its 'Party in the North Pole' event.

Running from 24-26 November, this event will feature Christmas markets, food stalls, live entertainment, Disney characters, a local choir singing Christmas carols, and even Christmas trees for sale.

Proceeds will help fund a trip to send 100 children in need to Lapland.

Edgeley festive market | Castle Street | Sat 25 Nov | 11am-3pm

Castle Street is set to host an independent festive market on Saturday 25 November, from 11am until 3pm.

The temporary market will host no less than 40 traders, offering food, Christmas decorations, gifts, and more. There will even be live music and face painting.

The market is organised by Worker Bee Markets, which hosts similar events across Stockport. The organisation hand-picks its makers and traders 'bespoke for local communities'. In other words, priority is given mainly to traders who are local - from seasoned marketers to talented hobbyists.

Visitors can expect '[the] best artisan and local produce' and 'quality handmade goods'. Think Edgeley's temporary markets in May and August of this year, but with a festive twist!

Record fair | Stockport Masonic Guildhall | Sun 26 Nov | 9am

This Sunday 26 November event is a must for all vinyl lovers, featuring traders selling vinyl records, CDs, books, and more.

There is catering on site and the bar is also open.

Entry is £1 per person, or £5 from 9am.

The organisers gave the following description: "We're rammed full with vinyl records, CDs, and associated memorabilia, with some new traders alongside our regulars.

"You can park at the rear of the venue for £1 in the car park off Brentnall Street.

"Oh, and there's two convenient cash machines close by, at the petrol station and Co-op."
