Stockport borough's dedicated volunteers have been honoured in the council's annual Greenspace Awards.
The awards aim to celebrate local groups, 'Friends of' organisations, and dedicated individuals, specifically for their work on parks and green spaces in the borough.
Whether it's allotments, parks, or rail stations, the awards set out to honour all the "unsung green-fingered heroes", and their "invaluable work and commitment".
The work of these volunteers usually complements work by council officers and grounds maintenance teams.
Outstanding groups and individuals were awarded in eight different categories:
- Working with Ambition
- Innovation
- Equality & Accessibility
- Health and Wellbeing
- Achieving as a Team/Friends of Group
- Individual
- Rising Star
- Looking After The Environment Award
The winners each picked up a voucher and a certificate.
Cllr Grace Baynham, cabinet member for parks, highways and transport, said: "I'm delighted that we can formally recognise the amazing work that our many volunteers and friends of groups undertake throughout the year.
"They are real unsung heroes and work tirelessly to ensure our much-loved parks and greenspaces look their best.
"It's fantastic that we can give them the recognition they so rightly deserve through these awards – showing our appreciation is something that means a lot to me."
