A third weather warning of the year has been raised for Stockport.

Put in place by the Met Office, the warning for ice is in place from midnight tonight until 10am on Wednesday morning (January 7).

"Icy patches overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning could lead to some disruption," the warning said.

It also warned of "icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths".

The warning is in place for almost all of Great Britain.

"Following a band of precipitation which clears southeast overnight, clear skies will develop for many areas on Tuesday night will lead to icy patches on untreated wet surfaces," the Met Office explained.

"This could lead to some minor disruption especially on Wednesday morning."

Previous warnings for snow and ice were raised on Sunday 4 January and Monday 5 January.
