The Stockport restaurants shortlisted in the Manchester Curry Awards 2024

Eleven Stockport restaurants have been shortlisted in the first ever Manchester Curry Awards.
These top eateries will compete alongside others across Greater Manchester in a range of categories.
First of all is the curry restaurant of the year accolade, organised by area.
Stockport Curry Restaurant of the Year
- Last Monsoon (Stockport town centre)
- Chilli Massalla (Edgeley)
- Heatons Tandoori (Heaton Moor)
- Harappa Restaurant (Stockport town centre)
- Mint Indian Kitchen (Reddish)
- Mister Ali's Tandoori & Balti Cuisine (Heaviley)
- Kismet Indian Restaurant (Heaviley).
Best of Greater Manchester
As well as the regional awards, there is also a prestigious 'Best of Greater Manchester' award, celebrating the best curry restaurants in the whole city region. Stockport makes up three out of ten nominations in this category, highlighted in bold.
- BINDI of Aspull (Wigan)
- Ajmeer Manzil (Standish)
- Babar Elephant (Wigan)
- Ayaans (Bolton)
- Thira Restaurant (Bolton)
- Last Monsoon (Stockport)
- Chilli Massalla (Edgeley, Stockport)
- Bombay to Mumbai (Bramhall, Stockport)
- Soho Spice (Bolton)
- Royal Balti House (Bolton)
Other nominations
Further still, Tiger Chilly in Reddish has been nominated in the 'Takeaway and Home Delivery of the Year' category.
Mr Ali's Tandoori has also been nominated in the 'Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year category.
Blue Nile in Hazel Grove is in the running for 'Kitchen of the Year'.
And Copper Lounge, also in Hazel Grove, has made the shortlist for 'Best of Manchester'.
A 'spicetacular' ceremony
The Manchester Curry Awards will in fact be the first event of its kind held in the region.
The winners will be announced on 30 September.
A spokesperson for the awards said: "We're very proud of how we've been able to grow the curry awards and celebrate the vibrant curry scene in the UK.
"We felt Manchester was worth highlighting as its done so much for the modern British curry. We want to congratulate all our finalists and wish them the best of luck."
