Ten local heroes in Stockport have featured in the King's birthday honours list, which was published on 14 June.
The list aims to "mark the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK".
There are more than 1,000 people on the list, including scientists, artists, volunteers, and other 'community champions'.
Impressively, 40 names on the list come from Greater Manchester, meaning Stockport accounts for one quarter of the region's contribution.
The 10 people who did the borough proud are as follows:
OBEs (Officers of the order of the British Empire)
- Professor Ian Melvyn Hall - A professor at the University of Manchester, and Stockport resident. Awarded for services to public health, epidemiology and adult social care, particularly during Covid 19.
- Professor Paul Edward Klapper - A professor at the University of Manchester, and Stockport resident. Awarded for services to viral diagnostic testing.
MBEs (Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire)
- Neville Lewis Beischer - CEO of the Flagship Learning Trust. Awarded for services to education
- Jacqui Karen Belfield-Smith - Head of youth justice and targeted youth services at Stockport Council. Awarded for services to youth justice.
- Deborah Marie Brown - Executive director at Salford Council, and Stockport resident. Awarded for services to local government.
- Dr Amrik Singh Mahal - Global head of IT for research at AstraZeneca. Awarded for services to science and the Covid-19 response.

- Elva Brown - Lately driving examiner at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. Awarded for services to road safety.
- Reverend Charles John Nevin - Trustee at the Laurus Trust. Awarded for services to education.
Jacqui Belfield-Smith, one of the new MBEs, said it was "a privilege and an honour" to receive the accolade.
She added: "It was completely unexpected and I'm thrilled to accept it on behalf of myself and the many colleagues I've worked alongside throughout my career, helping to support children and young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system."
Other big names in the list this year were Tracey Emin, Alan Bates, and Imelda Staunton.
