A talented Stopfordian will be taking part in the Paris Olympics.

Stockport local Aimee Pratt will represent both the town and Team GB in the women's 3,000 metre steeplechase.

This steeplechase involves a 3,000 metre run, with seven water jumps and 28 barriers.

Round One will take place on Sunday 4 August, with the final set for Tuesday 6 August.

The 26-year-old boasts a string of top 10 finishes in the World Championships, European Championships, and Commonwealth Games. And all of this after finishing 11th in her heat in the Tokyo Olympics 2022.

Best of luck, Aimee! We'll be cheering you on here in Stocky.
