New board game cafe to open in Stockport town centre
A new board game cafe in Stockport town centre will open from 11am today (Tuesday 30 July).
The Dice Box is based on Prince's Street, on the site of the former GAME store.
Visitors pay for a table, and can then pick a board game from a library of more than 500. And while you're placing your people or picking your cards, you can choose from a tasty menu of food and drink, delivered with table service.
And with opening hours of 11am-11pm Tuesday to Saturday, The Dice Box can just as easily be the spot for an evening social, with a wide range of beers, wines and cocktails on offer.
There are also games for sale, and the prospect of themed nights and other various events in the near future.
Owners Jacqui and Steve said: "Tabletop gaming has never been more exciting than it is now, with so much variety and quality that even non-gamers have enjoyed many fun gaming events that we've hosted in recent times.
"Sadly, there aren't enough places to bring so many people together, and there is certainly nothing like The Dice Box in Manchester.
"When we first stepped into The Dice Box, we realised instantly that this is something special and we need to bring such an amazing gaming experience to Manchester.
Opening hours are 11am-11pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and 11am-8pm on Sundays.
Table rates are as follows:
- Hour 1 – £2.50 per person, per hour
- Hour 2 – £2 per person, per hour
- Hour 3 – £2 per person, per hour
- Hour 4 onwards – £1 per person, per hour.
- 12s and under – £1 per person, per hour (must be accompanied by a fully paying adult)
Find more information on booking a table on the Dice Box website.
