How plans stand for the proposed new McDonald's near Cheadle
Plans have been submitted for a new McDonald's restaurant near Cheadle.
If plans were approved, a new McDonald's branch would be built on land to the north of Stanley Green Retail Park.
The restaurant would be open for 24 hours per day, and seven days per week. It would be 'drive-to' as opposed to drive-through.
The plans have met with a fair deal of controversy - whilst the final decision ultimately rests with Stockport Council's planning and highways committee, some councillors in Cheadle have argued that the plans should be refused.

Lib Dem leader Ed Davey addresses water pollution and housing in Bramhall visit
Sir Ed Davey discussed housing and water pollution in a visit to Bramhall today (Friday 15 March)
The Lib Dem leader talked of the need for a 'comprehensive approach' in reducing damage to waterways, and the importance of a 'community-led' strategy when it came to housing developments.
Mr Davey appeared at Carr Brook alongside volunteers from Friends of Carr Wood, as well as Cllr Tom Morrison - Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Cheadle - and local ward councillors Jeremy Meal and Alex Wynne.

Stockport named 'best place to live in the North West' by Sunday Times
Was it ever in any doubt?
Stockport has been named "the best place to live in the North West" by The Sunday Times.
It comes at a buoyant time for the town; indeed, prior to this accolade, Stockport has consistently found itself ranking highly in similar "best places to live" polls.
In a glowing write-up, The Sunday Times said "this proud old town is fast becoming fashion-forward, funky and family friendly".
