Paul Taylor, the manager of Stockport's Business Improvement District (BID), Totally Stockport, is leaving after six years in the role.
The BID is a collective body of local businesses, who each contribute a levy to improve areas in the town centre.
It is the BID which was responsible for the giant frog art trail, free WiFi in the town centre, food and drink festivals, and more.
On his departure from the manager role, Paul said: "It has been an amazing six years with Totally Stockport and, as a BID, we have achieved such a huge amount during a period of enormous change in the Town Centre.
"I will miss our amazing small team of brilliant people who I have had the pleasure of working with. Now we are free from the constraints imposed by Covid, I'm looking forward to concentrating on my events business.
"I wish the BID team the very best for the future and will be championing all that is great in Stockport, every day on Strawberry Radio."
The BID's general aim is to increase footfall and spend in the town centre, and to give local businesses a say in what goes on.
Around £400,000 is raised each year by the BID to go towards town centre improvement.
According to the BID business plan, its three objectives are: "To promote Stockport town centre as a destination of choice attracting residents, shoppers, visitors and businesses from
across the borough and beyond; to improve the town centre experience; and to measure
the achievements of the BID throughout its five year term.
Paul has stated that he will focus on his broadcast, marketing and events business from now on.
