Stockport wrestler's toy drive is a slamming hit!
Joe Blazr delivers boxes of joy to Stepping Hill Hospital with the help of a WWE legend!
Stockport's very own Joe Blazr bounced back from a heartbreaking loss at the FutureShock championship this past weekend to bring some joy to the children on The Treehouse Ward at Stepping Hill Hospital.
Despite losing to Chris Ridgeway the night before, Joe was all smiles as he delivered several boxes of new toys and games.
Born in Stepping Hill himself, Joe Fisher (the man inside Joe Blazr's striking purple attire) has lived in the area all his life. Living his childhood dream has taken him all over the country and into the ring with his heroes, and even onto the WWE Network. All the way through he's made sure to give back to the community that raised him.
At FutureShock Wrestling's July event, Joe made his comeback from an injury that had put him on the sidelines for six long months. As part of his big comeback, he planned Joe Blazr's Toy Drive for The Treehouse Ward, a way to put smiles on children's faces as they face difficult times.
The FutureShock fans came through massively, donating all kinds of dolls, toys and games (naturally there were a few wrestling figures too!).
WWE legend Scotty 2 Hotty, known for wrestling alongside the likes of The Rock and Steve Austin also competed in the region for the first time since 2001! He was thrilled to be part of this and even donated part of his fee to help top the boxes up.
Joe Blazr will certainly need all the good karma he can get as he prepares for a championship rematch with Chris Ridgeway on August 12th at FutureShock Wrestling's 19th Anniversary.
Can the underdog with the never-say-die attitude bounce back? With the fans chanting "Go Joe Go!" behind him the odds have never been better.
