A skincare business based in Romiley has been shortlisted for a prestigious award at what has been described as the hair and beauty 'Oscars'.

ClearSkin4U in Romiley is a finalist in the 2026 UK Hair and Beauty Awards (HBA), in the Skin Specialist of the Year category.

Widely recognised as the 'Hair and Beauty Oscars', the awards celebrate outstanding talent and achievement across the industry.

This year's HBA ceremony takes place at Manchester's AO Arena on 15 August, and promises to be the largest event in HBA history.

The awards are strictly merit-based, with no 'pay-to-win' or 'pay-to-place' system - entrants are recognised only for their quality, dedication, and professional standards.

"I'm honestly so grateful to be recognised as a finalist," said ClearSkin4U's founder, Gemma Maher.

"ClearSkin4U was built from a genuine passion for helping people feel more confident in their skin, so to receive national recognition for that means a lot.

"Knowing these awards focus on real talent and hard work makes it even more special, and I'm incredibly proud to represent Romiley and Stockport at the AO Arena."

Sophie Lux, CEO of HBA, added: "Our goal has always been to invite the whole industry to celebrate together, regardless of social or financial status.

"HBA isn't about exclusivity; it's about inclusivity and celebrating the real talent that keeps our industry thriving."
