Stockport residents encouraged to 'turn the town blue' in celebration of County's remarkable season

Stockport County is inviting fans to celebrate the club's remarkable season by wearing, displaying, and decorating with blue.
Residents - as well as schools and businesses - are being asked to display blue; whether it's in a window, in the front garden, indoors, or even in cars.
The aim is to turn Stockport blue in celebration of a remarkable season for The Hatters - the women's team are champions of the Cheshire FA Women's cup, and the men's team have a third-place finish in League One, after having been promoted from League Two only last season.
"We want every proud Stopfordian to honour the Hatters by wearing the club colours and decorating their homes, shops, cars and classrooms in Stockport County blue, and posting photos and footage of their efforts on social media using the hashtag #PaintItBlue", a County spokesperson said.

The club itself suggested some potential ideas:
- Decorating your shop window with County shirts, club crests or blue banners
- Festooning your company's reception area with blue bunting
- Painting your garden fence or garage door blue
- Decorating your car, bicycle or scooter in County colours
- Baking cakes & biscuits and icing them blue
- Illuminating your house and garden with blue lights
- Decorating your school playground or classroom blue
- Planting blue flowers in your garden or window box
- Decorating your communal alleyway in County blue
- Painting your face or colouring your hair blue
Play-off dates have now been confirmed for the men's team. The Hatters will face Leyton Orient in the first leg of the play-offs on 10 May at Brisbane Road. The second leg the second leg is scheduled for Wednesday 14 May Edgeley Park at 8pm.
The victors will earn a spot at Wembley for the play-off final. They'll be facing either Charlton or Wycombe - depending on who wins that play-off tie.
