Stockport Claire's branch saved from closure as fashion chain enters administration

Stockport's branch of Claire's in the Merseyway shopping centre has been saved from closure.
The fashion accessory chain entered administration in August 2025, in the face of changing customer habits.
However, since then a deal has been struck with Modella Capital, who agreed to buy the majority of the Claire's estate.
It means that 156 stores - including Stockport - have been saved, along with around 1,000 jobs.
However, a further 145 stores are not included in the deal, and these will be forced to close.
Claire's specialises in jewellery and fashion accessories, and also offers an ear-piercing service.
