A care home provider in Stockport has been named one of the best places to work in the UK.

Borough Care, which has 10 homes across the borough, ranked highly in the 2026 UK's Best Workplaces list, placing at number 95 in the large organisations category.

The listing is based on confidential feedback shared by hundreds of thousands of employees at firms across the country.

"This recognition is especially meaningful to us", a Borough Care spokesperson said.

"While we've been proudly accredited as a Great Place to Work for the past two years, this is the first time we've made the UK's Best Workplaces List - a fantastic milestone for everyone across Borough Care.

"Even better, this achievement joins the Best Workplaces for Women, Best Workplaces in the Not-For-Profit sector, and Best Workplaces in the Healthcare sector awards we received last year. Safe to say our (virtual!) trophy cabinet is looking pretty full!

"What makes this recognition even more special is that it's based on feedback from our colleagues through the Great Place to Work survey. Their voices and experiences help shape our culture and ensure Borough Care continues to be a place where people feel supported, valued and able to thrive.

Borough Care has nearby homes in Bramhall, Bredbury, Brinnington, Cale Green, Davenport, Gatley, Hazel Grove and Offerton. They also have homes in Leek and Stone.

Their aim is to provide 'the safety and sanctuary of a warm and welcoming home' for vulnerable residents, but at the same time go to great effort to make life as interesting, enjoyable and colourful for the residents as possible.
