Stockport is about to welcome another independent business to its bustling shopping scene.

Mooch, a new shop stocking gifts, homeware and more, will be opening at 5A Mealhouse Brow on Saturday 29 August.

Run by Stockport local Emma, the shop promises to be a treasure trove of quirky decor, gifts, books, prints, and more.

It features a genuinely interesting range of items, all sourced and curated by Emma, from around the world.

There are lots of lovely items from our little corner of the Pennines, including prints, cards, and designs from Stockport artists. There are also treats from a little further afield, including the likes of Chester and London.

Even more excitingly, there is also global stock, including olive oil from the shores of the Aegean, pottery from the hills of Lisbon, plus other items from Andalusia, the USA, and more.

Emma explained that Mooch has been inspired by the kinds of shops she herself likes going in - borrowing some of the best aspects from the favourite places she's been in on her travels.

And the stock is expected to rotate, too - so, chances are, every time you go in there will be something else on the shelves that you might not have seen before.

The grand opening takes place on Saturday 29 August, from 10am-5pm.

Glasses of fizz will be given out to customers (while stocks last!) and Oli the Choc - the master chocolatier and social media phenomenon - will be at the shop from 11am-midday in what promises to be a fun-packed event for young visitors.

After the grand opening, it will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am-5pm.

Once again, you can find Mooch at 5A Mealhouse Brow, tucked off Little Underbank.
