There is lots to do in Stockport this weekend.

Beginning proceedings this weekend is the welcome return of Foodie Friday, featuring, as usual, a top range of traders and performances.

Elsewhere in the borough, the Easter Festival in Cheadle will run throughout the rest of the week until Saturday 30 March. It features a range of events including live music and an open air cinema.

Also on Saturday is the Worker Bee Market, which will take place at Broadstone Mill from 11am-3pm, featuring traders, street food, and more.

Further still, LitFest literature festival will run from 10am-5pm at Stockport Central Library in what will be a debut for Stockport.

Foodie Friday | Market Place | Fri 29 March | 6-9pm

It's that time of the month again!

Market Place in Stockport town centre will host a myriad of street food traders in this much-loved event in the Stockport calendar.

Proceedings will run from 6-9pm on Friday 29 March.

A description for this event reads: "Foodie Friday is a truly unique social event for Stockport town centre, creating a continental-style, street cafe culture which appeals to all ages, and gives families a relaxed and enjoyable night out with their children."

If the prospect of all those traders peddling delicious cuisine from around the world isn't enough, then there will also be live music!

Cheadle Easter Festival | Locations throughout Cheadle | Until Saturday 30 March

Spring has most certainly sprung in Cheadle Village, which will host a special spring festival over the next few days.

Running from Wednesday 27 March until Saturday 30 March, the festival will see music nights, a cinema showing on the green, a chocolate hunt, and more.

The events will take place in a range of locations throughout the village from bars to church halls, and the offerings will be as varied as their locations.

Booking is required for some of these events - for more information, check the festival's Facebook page HERE.

The festival is hosted by The Art in the Park team, following the success of last year's arts festival.

In the words of the organisers: "Immerse yourself in the community celebration; enjoy live music, open mic nights, painting workshops, candle making, the art box creator challenge, and a Wonka-themed cinema on the green."

Worker Bee Market | Broadstone Mill | Sat 30 March | 11am-3pm

53 makers and traders (many local) pitch up in the car park of Broadstone Mill showcasing the handmade, affordable, unique crafts, gifts, homeware as well as foodie treats and fresh produce.

Come for lunch, enjoy live music from soul singer Karen James (Spotlight on Reddish) and meet friends and family.

The event runs from 11am-3pm on Saturday 30 March.

LitFest | Stockport Central Library | Sat 30 March | 10am-5pm

A weekend literature festival will take place in Stockport, in what will be a first for the borough.

Whilst literature festivals have taken place in Stockport before, none have been quite like this.

'LitFest' will feature talks and workshops from authors and other creatives, and will run from 10am-5pm at Stockport Central Library.

The event is free for all, covering everything from writing poetry, stories, journaling, and even illustration.
