Film crews were spotted in Stockport yesterday evening, along with popstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

The singer songwriter was being filmed outside Stockport Market Hall, opposite staircase house.

Whilst it's plausible that they came down to check out the delights of Market Place, it seems more likely that the main reason was to film a music video.

In footage taken by pedestrians, the singer is seen striding along the cobbles with music playing in the background, as film crews capture the action.

One video taken by Brian Howel was posted on the Stop in Stockport X page.

This is by no means the first time that Stockport has been used as a glamorous filming location.

The past few months have seen the filming of a historical drama, a BBC comedy, and of course a music video from Blossoms.

Such is the popularity of the area as a filming location, that it's coming to be called 'Stockywood'.
