Period drama filming to take place in Stockport town centre
Film crews and actors will descend on Stockport town centre next month for the filming of a new period drama.
Filming for 'Elveden', set in the 19th century, will take place on 10 July "in and around Little Underbank and the Royal Oak yard".
Furthermore, from 24 June, crews will prepare the set by 'dressing' some of the businesses in the area.
Kudos, the television production company behind the shoot, has promised that disruption will be kept to a minimum, and that this set-dressing will take place outside of peak pedestrian hours.
The day of filming on 10 July is expected to last from 8am-6pm. Lower Hillgate and Little Underbank will be closed on the day to make the filming easier.
Local residents were told about the filming in a letter from Kudos, which said: "We will endeavour to keep disruption to an absolute minimum".
The letter was later posted to the Facebook page Stockport Tourism.
This is far from the first time that Stockport has been used as a set. The borough's varied architecture and landscape has made it a popular choice for directors and film crews; Daddy Issues and Fool Me Once being just two examples of productions which were filmed here recently.
