Police make six arrests while tackling anti-social behaviour in Stockport

Police have made six arrests in Stockport town centre as part of a crackdown on retail crime and anti-social behaviour.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were deployed to the town centre on Tuesday 30 September, as part of the 'Safe4Summer' campaign, a government project focussed on making town centres more safe.
The arrests were made on suspicion of offences including breach of licences, theft and retail crime.
Police also carried out five stop and searches, and six vehicle checks, with one vehicle seized for having no insurance.
Throughout the day, police patrolled the town centre chatting to locals and shop owners.
Stalls were also in place in the Merseyway centre to help advise residents on crime prevention tactics.
