A police community support officer (PCSO) was left with minor injuries after an incident involving an electric bike in Woodley Precinct.

Neighbourhood officers were on patrol when they noticed an electric bike being ridden in an anti-social way.

When PCSOs tried to intervene, the rider 'became obstructive', and made off from the area - leaving the bike behind, which was subsequently seized.

One PCSO was left with minor injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

Greater Manchester Police said it continues to take issues of anti-social behaviour, illegal bikes and associated criminality seriously.

"Your reports are vital to our operations , and action will be taken where appropriate to keep our communities safe and reduce nuisance on our local neighbourhoods", a spokesperson said.
