Police bust drug den in Brinnington containing £87,000 in cannabis

Police have uncovered a cannabis farm in Brinnington, which contained an estimated £87,000 in plants.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) uncovered the drug den on 1 August following intelligence reports.
GMP said the plants and equipment will be destroyed, and the discovery will be instrumental in dismantling a large operation.
Although nobody was in the property at the time of the search warrant, an investigation is ongoing to locate suspects.
Sergeant Andy Kindness said: "This is one more step towards our commitment to tackling criminality on the streets of Stockport.
"We understand how the production and distribution of illegal drugs can have a negative impact on our communities, and we will continue to pursue those intent on causing misery.
"As part of our Safe4Summer campaign, we are committed to tackling issues that cause our communities concern, so please continue to report these to us. Every report helps us to build our intelligence picture and tackle criminality."
Police are also appealing for anybody who might have information pertaining to this discovery to come forward.
"Anyone with further information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 1577 of 01/08/2025", GMP said.
"Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
