Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for information following a stabbing on Queen's Drive in Heaton Mersey.
Officers were called to an address in the area in the early hours of Wednesday 13 September 2023, to reports of a burglary taking place.
When arriving on scene, a 16-year-old male was found to have sustained a stabbing injury to his hand. He has since undergone surgery and his injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
GMP is now conducting extensive enquiries to ascertain the events.
DS Kirsty Pierce of GMP's Stockport CID said: "This appears to be an isolated attack and we have increased patrols within the local community.
This happened just after midnight on Wednesday and we believe that the three males responsible for breaking into the home and carrying out the attack on the male, arrived in a white vehicle - possibly an estate car - which came down Queen's Drive and then parked on the junction with Thornfield Drive.
"After the attack, the three males jumped into the vehicle, which then sped off in the direction of Mauldeth Road in Heaton Mersey.
"GMP is asking anyone who may have any dashcam, CCTV or ring doorbell footage which shows this vehicle, between 12.15am and 12.30am on Wednesday 13 September 2023 to come forward and contact us on 0161 856 9790 or 101."
