Police investigators are appealing for information after a fatal collision involving a motorbike in Alexandra Park.

It is believed that, on 2 February 2024, an electric motorcycle collided with a metal access barrier in the park, near the main car park off Cheadle Old Road.

Police were called to the scene around 6.30pm.

The rider, a 32-year-old man, was taken to hospital, but he has sadly since passed as a result of his injuries.

Police are now looking to speak to any witnesses - particularly those who went to help the rider after the collision.

As a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said: "GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

"They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time around the park in the moments leading up to and after the collision, as they are aware people kindly attended to the rider in the aftermath of the collision before emergency services arrived."
