Police are appealing for information after an assault in North Reddish Park yesterday (Monday 12 February).

Police were attended the scene around 5pm. The victim - a 15-year-old male - was hit by what is believed to be a hammer. He did not sustain serious injuries.

Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "On Monday 12 February 2024, at around 5pm, officers were called to reports of an assault on North Reddish Park in Stockport.

"Officers attended the scene and thankfully the 15-year-old male victim did not sustain serious injuries.

"Initial enquiries suggest that the victim was walking through the park when he was approached by four unknown males in face coverings when he was hit by what is believed to be a hammer.

"An investigation has been launched to identify and locate those involved in this incident.

"If you have any information, witnessed the incident, have CCTV in the surrounding area around this time, please submit this to GMP directly.

"You can report information by calling 101 or by visiting our website on www.gmp.police.uk quoting log 2364 of 12/02/2024.

"Alternatively, you can report information to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
