Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information following a report of indecent exposure in Cheadle.

The incident took place on Sunday 18 August at 5.15pm, in a ginnel behind John Lewis.

A woman described walking through the ginnel to get to the Etchells Road bus stop.

As she approached the exit of the ginnel, she noticed a man in his late 20s / early 30s, who exposed himself.

He was wearing a light blue bomber jacket, a dark blue polo shirt with a maroon collar, jeans, trainers, and a backpack.

A police spokesperson said: "This was a distressing incident for our victim, and we continue to support her and ensure she is kept up to date with our investigation.

"We are following several lines of enquiry, but we are urging members of the public who may have been in the area at the time, or who often pass Etchells Road on their commute, to please come forward and speak to us."

Police Sergeant Delaney from our Stockport division added: "We know reports of this nature may cause concern, but we do believe that this was an isolated incident. Police are following several lines of enquiry, and we have robust patrols in place to assist with identifying the suspect, and to offer reassurance to the local community."
