A street party will take place in Stockport Underbanks this weekend, after being postponed.

On Saturday 31 August from 12-4pm, Little Underbank will host live music, DJs, free activities, trading stalls, and more.

The event was due to take place on Saturday 24th, but was cancelled following 'widespread issues' in the wake of Storm Lilian.

In a post on social media, the event organisers said: "While we know this is disappointing, our first priority is keeping our visitors and staff safe".

The event will now round off the month, having been rescheduled for this weekend.

Entry is free, and the event is family-friendly.

What's more, the shops along the Underbanks will be open as usual.

It will be the third annual iteration of these 'secret' street parties, and this one aims to be as much of a success as its predecessors.

A Stockport Council spokesperson said: "Stockport's Secret Street Party is a wonderful opportunity to support local businesses, get involved in arts and cultural activities, and most importantly have fun.

"You won't want to miss this!"
