A new bar and music venue in Stockport Underbanks will be opening this month.

'The Underbank' - in the Syndikat building - will be hosting a 'soft open' from 23-25 May and a 'grand opening' on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May.

Behind the plans is Benji Taylor, founder of Bask and former music promoter.

Visitors can expect touring bands, DJs, comedy, County match days, quizzes, and more.

There will also be a bar offering beers, spirits, wines, and some 'pretty tasty' fresh ground coffee.

Speaking of the soft open, the venue said on social media: "Join us while we test the systems and train our wonderful new team. All our friends, family and followers get 50 percent off drinks before 8pm throughout the soft launch bank holiday.

"Just show you follow us and remember we're training and testing things for the very first time."

As for the grand opening on 30th-31st, they said: Our much anticipated, all in, swinging from the rafters launch parties!

"Join us at the bar or get on the free guest list for guaranteed entry. Come and dance all proper and that in the beer hall and sound system. Open midday till late."
