A yellow weather warning is in place across Stockport today (Thursday 21 December) until 9pm.

The warning, issued by the Met Office, comes in light of strong winds "across a large swathe of the country". Yellow warnings suggest that low-level disruption will be likely.

Residents should therefore expect for some bus and train services to be delayed, road delays, short term losses of power, and delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed roadways.

For one, National Rail has announced that some of its services will have speed restrictions in place - this means trains will run at slower speeds than usual to operate safely.
