Man charged following sexual assault of boy in Cheadle Heath

A man has been charged following the sexual assault of a boy in Cheadle Heath.
Mohammed Shakavan, 42, an Iraqi national of Crumpsall, has been charged with the attempted rape of a child and sexual activity with a child.
He appeared at Stockport Magistrates' Court yesterday (Monday 27 April).
He has since been remanded to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court in June 2026.
It follows reports that a boy under the age of 16 had been seriously sexually assaulted in Cheadle Heath on Friday 24 April 2026.
